Databases with New Proxy Server  

Effective June 5, 2010:

New 8-digit Password

• 1st two letters of first name
• 1st two letters of last name
• last 4 numbers of W#

What to do?

• Access databases from off-campus.
• Log in with your W# and 6-digit password.
• After June 5, use the new 8-digit password.

Things to look for:

• Did you do a search and see actual content/text of an article?
• Does Las Positas/LPC Library (vs. Chabot) show up on database home page banner?
• Does the redirected URL show "proxy1" somewhere? (not required but a sign of using new proxy; see below)

This is the new proxy address and it should appear before every database URL:

• http://proxy1.clpccd.cc.ca.us/login?url=

Any URL with this old proxy address should be updated:

• http://proxy.clpccd.cc.ca.us:2048/login?url=
• port number may vary (i.e. 2048)
