Las Positas College Library's mission is to support the research and study needs of the campus community, by providing a quiet and scholarly environment. Las Positas and Chabot College students using the Library to borrow circulating items must present their College ID card with the current registration sticker on the back. Students may get the LPC College I.D. at the Admissions & Records Office. Library materials will be held at the circulation desk for 24 hours or over the weekend while the College ID is obtained.
Valid ID cards include:
Circulating - Two Weeks
Reference - Library and Class Use Only
Reserves - 1 Hour/ 1 Day/ 3 Days/ 7 Days
Latest Issue - Library Use Only
Back Issues - Two Weeks
CDs and DVDs - One Week
Reserve AV - Library Use Only or 1 Day
Library materials from LPC and Chabot Libraries can be renewed by several methods:
ONLINE: LPC and Chabot Library materials can be renewed through the online catalog if the borrower's account is in good standing. Account problems that may prevent an online renewal include:
BY TELEPHONE: Call the Library Circulation/Check Out Desk at (925) 424-1151.
IN PERSON: At the Circulation/Check Out Desk.
The following items CANNOT be renewed:
Overdue notices are issued as a courtesy to all library users. However, non-receipt of an overdue notice does not exempt a borrower from applicable fines or billings. To avoid overdue notices, fines, and bills please renew your materials before the due date stamped in each item.
Fines per item:
Fines should be paid at the Check-Out Desk, Building 2000, Learning Resources Building. For questions about an overdue notice or a library bill, consult the Library staff at the Check-Out Desk or call 925.424.1151. Outstanding library charges in excess of $5.00 will automatically block borrowing privileges. Outstanding library bills may also prevent registration for classes, graduation, or requests for transcripts. Payment by cash or check only.
Exceptions to the fines schedule may be made at the discretion of the Library Coordinator.
To request or renew library books, DVDs, or other materials using the library catalog, you must first set up your "My Library Account" and password through LPC Library's WorldCat Online Catalog.
