Step 2: Do the Research
All sources for this project must be from scientific journal or high-quality websites. Check with your instructor or a librarian if you are not sure of the quality of a source. General encyclopedias and non-science websites are not acceptable and should not be included in your annotated bibliography.
Read this FAQ to learn the difference between a primary and secondary research article.
a. Find a minimum of 3 articles on your topic published within the last 10 years.
One must be a primary research article.
For the remaining articles, you may use other sources for reliable scientific information. You may check your articles against the CRAAP Test for trustworthiness.
b. Search the Library Databases for scholarly articles. Refer to Find Research Articles in this research guide for recommended databases.
An annotated bibliography is a list of your references that includes APA citations of the sources and a brief summary (2-4 sentences) describing the source, noting whether it is a primary research article.
