Library Technology

Read below for an overview of the technology available in the library

Laptop Checkout

The library has laptops available for checkout.  Most laptops may be borrowed for 4 hours at a time for use on-campus only.  A select number of laptops are available for a 24-hour/overnight check-out.  Other laptop programs may also be available.  Please call 925-424-1151 or ask at the library Check Out Desk for more information.

Printers & Copiers

Print from library computers using a print card. Two copier machines are also available (take cash or print card).  Print or copy in B&W or Color. B&W copies are 10¢ per page, and Color copies are 50¢ per page.  Print cards can be purchased in the library, computer lab (Rm 803), or bookstore.

Scanning

One computer with a scanner allows students to scan materials to an electronic format.  Copiers can also scan to a flash drive.  

Computers

110 PCs, with full Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud Apps, installed, available for use when no library classes are in session.

Media

The library offers a wide range of DVDs, Blue-rays, and CDs for checkout, as well as streaming videos and music.

Teaching Stations

The library has three classrooms with teaching stations available for teachers to reserve for their classes within two weeks of the needed date.

Software

The library computers have the full Microsoft Office Suite, along with Adobe Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Creative Cloud apps (free Creative Cloud login required).

 

Library of Things

The library offers a wide range of study aids available for checkout including: a green screen kit, graphing calculators, iPads, headphones, charging cables, and more.

WiFi Access & Hotspots

WiFi access is freely available across campus by connecting to LPC in your device's WiFi settings.  When on campus, look for the WiFi network called "LPC" on your device.  No password is needed to join the network.  WiFi hotspots are also available for 24-hour checkout for off-campus use.  Please call 925-424-1151 or ask at the library Check Out Desk for more information.
