Request for Librarian Assistance

Request academic instruction and support from an LPC Librarian. Requests include the following types of assistance:

  • Research workshop (synchronous or asynchronous)
  • Class visit to the library (tour, checkout materials, use library classroom/computers)
  • Embed a Librarian in online course (short-term or full semester)
  • Consult with a Librarian regarding course assignments, library resources, etc.

In accordance with our collection development policy, although Library faculty are responsible for the overall development of the library collections, faculty in all disciplines of the college are expected to take an active role in selecting library print and media materials. The Library faculty act as contact persons for each of the academic areas and assist faculty with library resource selection and use. For more information, please see the full text of our Collection Development Policy.

To request an item click the below button and include as much information as possible, including author, title, publisher, price, ISBN, other information as appropriate. Include your name and phone number so that we may contact you if necessary. Please also indicate if you are faculty, staff or a student.

Course Reserves

Place course textbooks on reserve in the library for your students to use!

Course reserves are kept behind the checkout desk. Their use is dictated by the faculty when placing the reserve request. In most cases, course reserves are for library use only for one hour.

To place an item on course reserve, bring the item and your course information to the Check Out Desk. If you have any questions, please call the circulation staff at 925-424-1151.

Exhibits & Displays

Las Positas College Library offers a variety of exhibition and display areas in support of its mission to promote and provide information of an educational, cultural, civic or recreational nature. The Library welcomes the opportunity to allow LPC faculty, staff and student organizations use of these areas. Displays promoting commercial or partisan political purposes will not be accepted.
