The LPC library, like most academic libraries, uses the Library of Congress classification (LC) system to organize collections in the library. The LC system organizes/groups materials by subject area within different collections.
Many of the marine biology books can generally be found in the GC (Oceanography/Marine Sciences) and QH (Natural History) sections of the library (in both reference and circulating collections).
